Thanks everybody!

Well the issues been up for about a day and I just wanted to thank everyone for coming by and taking a peak.
There were some download problems but they are sorted now, notes on the buying page will help with any problems you may have with gumroad.

Also wanted to say Welcome! to new followers of the game who are showing an interest.
We're glad to have you visit the site and hope to keep putting out more for you all.

As always big thanks to +kreg Mosier  for helping to get the word out as always, as well as some fine art for the issue, just fire me an email at the spookyroomproductions@gmail.com address with your address so that I can send over a free issue.

Same to +Adam Muszkiewicz , your wizards were a fine addition to the book and send me an email with your address to send of your free copy too.

To everyone else, dig into the game! Make it your own, make some demonboards, throw together some lairs, raid the toy box for soldiers and monsters. We've got demons now and we're not afraid to use em!

And what's up for me? Finally getting around to running my own game again. I've got players lined up and ready to go so hopefully we'll be on to regular games once again!

Here on the site I'll be posting some more fun stuff as we ramp up to issue 5. Where Demonlords get some templates, tips and other stuff for making Lairs.

But done't wait till then, start scribblin today, and I definately want to see your Lairs. And your Demon boards, and toys.

Let's have some fun while we get the next issue going since We're officially in the Halloween season now. Let's get some spooky games of Lair going with some ghosts and goblins, demons and wizards!

Rock on, in a majestically spooky fashion!

5000 Views!

5000 Views

Sorry if there's not much fanfare but this one kind of snuck up on me.

Thanks to all the loyal Blood Reavers who follow the LOSS Hub.

Most especially to +Adam Muszkiewicz and +kreg Mosier both for being so welcoming to Google Plus to a new guy on the rpg scene.

Also huge thanks to some time player and all the time supporter of Loss +Raymond Saulnier, for getting LOSS into comic hunter in Moncton as well as finnally getting LOSS RPGgeek.com.

Speaking of Rpggeek.com if anyone could head on over and post a review or give the game a rating it would be much appreciated.

Also I have been unable to add the LOSS website to the descriptions on rpggeek so if someone could do that I would be most grateful.

And don't forget to send me an email at spookyroomproductions@gmail.com if you want to get in on the online LOSS game at roll20.net.

Game is tentatively going to be on Saturdays, twice a month. At about noon my local time (atlantic standard time I believe).

More Sorcery issue fan art!

Here some more fan art from +kreg Mosier, and the first non-wizard.

The knight seems to be sporting the long helmet flanges of the Winterland Crown but with a full helm. I would say this fellow has travelled outside of the winterlands where he commissioned this armour but kept the aspects of the crown to show pride for his homeland. He's also sporting an Imperial blade (double edged sword is the quick giveaway).so he's definately looking for trouble if he's in the winterlands unless employed by the empire. (sorry for hijacking the story of this guy +kreg Mosier )

How the Lair site has grown...

How Lair has grown...

It's benchmark time again!

First off if you look above you'll see another piece of Wizard art by the esteemed +Adam Muszkiewicz  for the Sorcery issue. Again show some love and check out +Drink Spin Run - An RPG Talk Show Podcast  and +Metal Gods of Ur-Hadad .

With this issue we are starting to see the fans get involved in Lair with this avalanche of fan art in the past few days. This is what Lair was meant to be, all of us getting together to share in the fun!

And what benchmarks have we hit now that Lair is 9 months old (not even a year yet!).

100 posts (including this one) of updates on Lair Content
9 Months of fun and game design
4316 Views from fans like you
15 Unique Pages of content
3 issues of Lair now in print
1 campaign underway
2 stories written up, one almost done playtesting and the other ready to go.
14 free lairs for download and use by Demonlords

And all the things in progress that I never even knew we'd be doing

The Lair Soundtrack
The Lair Synth
Lair animations
And even more secrets that I can't talk about yet.

We've even made it into a couple of comic shops, some of them far far away. Locally you can find them at Heroes Beacon, In Moncton you can find them at Comic Hunter.
(I hear rumours you can find them in your local Strange Adventures shops but actual sighting haven't been verified)

Copies have even winged their way across the border to various spots in the USA.

We are finally up on RPGGeek which was a herculean effort for +Raymond Saulnier due to the games bizarre publishing format. Thanks Ray!

Lair even got some reviews by issue 2 before heroes could even gain ranks. Thanks again +kreg Mosier and +Adam Muszkiewicz

And for all of this I thank all of you the fans, the Demonlords, the Heroes, and all you Blood Reavers who visit the site to see what we're throwing on the table here in the great Northern Winterlands.

There's lots more coming and it's hard for even me to believe that it's even better than whats come before.

Review: Heavy Metal Gods of Ur-Hadad

I've been meaning to post a review of Metal Gods for some time, Issue 3 definitely sealed the deal.

Do you ever go online and start reading something that looks like it's pulled out of your own head, only someone put all the work in to make it awesome already?

That's how I feel about Metal Gods.

First off you can find them over at Dispatches from Kickassistan

Written by +Adam Muszkiewicz and a bunch of others, including alot of familiar names from +Drink Spin Run - An RPG Talk Show Podcast .

The feeling of this whole group is the same as walking in on your older brother playing D&D with all his cool friends while you're still playing with your He-Man figures.

They play the kind of Game that we all wanted to play, and Ur-Hadad is the tip of that mighty iceberg.

Ur-Hadad is an eternal city. One full from wall to wall with bands, Gangs, cults and adventure. Streets of excitement, sewers of mystery, docks on iniquity.
And like other eternal cities it makes a great place for adventure. It's not just a place to go between adventures, a place to sell your loot. It's a place of adventure itself.
It seems so large and vast that it can easily absorb the actions of your players party, burn down few building, kill a few local magistrates? Meh the city goes on. Or if they wish they can try for control, meh the city cares not, they will be gone with time.

And what's actually in the books?

Stories, legends, background, myths rumours. Which I love.
The best part is that some of them conflict with each other, and they are still all true!

Yeah but, what else?

Issue 1 has some great stuff, lots of tables for encountering the assassins of Ur-Hadad, a great encounter for any game.
And what is ostensibly a scenario but is actually a great set of tables for randomly generating city blocks. We've all seen this kind of thing before but this one really is different.
It is incredibly simple for one, and doesn't get too caught up with specific streets or houses. But what it does have is great colour detail, random encounters, local places of interest and more, so much more.

Issue 2
You like space? You're going to the moon! Lots of wacky sci-fi to mix in with your fantasy. Nuff said on that. You have to read it to see.
The backup articles are Bounty Hunting in Ur-Hadad. Tables galore again with all the details you need as well as some good guidelines for bounty hunting useful in any game. It's amazing how many games have bounty hunter classes and yet still do not have as useful a set of guidelines.

Issue 3
Currency of Ur-Hadad! I don't know why but I always love articles on Currency. Just having names for the coins adds so much to a game. And this article, like all the best ones, also shows the history, background and mindset of the people using it.
Also in this issue are guidelines for a "Heist" scenario. Again it's amazing how many games have "thieves" or criminals, as character classes and yet here for the first time I have seen are guidelines for actually committing robberies.

Overall:
What more can I say? The articles are all great and each book contains far more than I've listed here.
They are all laid out well and the art is fantastic! The writers all seem to tackle subjects we actually need in all our games, all those little things that we plan on writing up but seem so simple that we never get around to it and just wing it.
Or the things we never even think of but as soon as we see it know that we need it.

The best thing is that they are all written in the spectacular tone of Ur-Hadad, where characters are free to roam to do any madass thing they want and throw every scenario off it's rails and into crazy and insanely fun areas.

I'm sorry to all involved, that I just could not convey the enthusiasm and spectacular fun of Ur-Hadad but I don't need to just head over to kickassistan.net now and you'll see.

Buy Lair of Sword & Sorcery at Comic Hunter in Moncton

Look carefully, it's in there...

It's official, Lair of Sword & Sorcery is available at Comic hunter in Moncton. Thanks so much Comic hunter.
And special thanks to +Raymond Saulnier for making it happen.
Raymond has been one of the earliest and most vocal cheerleaders for the game and was the one to actually get the games on the shelves.
He also got to sit in on the official campaign and I had the pleasure of discussing rules and campaign design with him.
Thanks Ray! Much appreciated!

Hard Writing Done, more updates soon...

All the hard writing is done for the Veteran Issue
First draft is ready with all the rules, background, skills etc.
Still have to take another pass through to edit, rearrange and add some more Kartharka Flair.
But it's all officially if the molding stage now.
So, I can continue with the community updates, the campaign reports, some more articles on gameplay, and a whole list of other things I have to post about.
Hopefully come the weekend I can put a big dent in my "things to post" backlog.
Going straight into Art now for the next week, but luckily I have a few people willing to step up and submit some art.
Of course you never know how much of that will come through in time for the issue...

I also need to come up with a few things for the characters to do after they finish the Blind Burrower campaign. I have an idea for a couple of things on their way back home to Stroh Branoch, but I don't want to give too much away.

I also wanted to send out a big thanks to +Adam Muszkiewicz for the shoutout at +Drink Spin Run - An RPG Talk Show Podcast  as well as Dispatches from Kickassistan.
Much thanks!

For the rest of you, hold tight, more awesomeness is coming!
